01 Project Brief

Client Requirement

The client required a large-scale stainless steel sculpture to serve as the visual centerpiece of a luxury hotel lobby. The artwork needed to reflect elegance, movement and contemporary architectural aesthetics while maintaining a premium mirror-polished surface. The sculpture also had to integrate naturally with the lobby’s marble flooring, lighting and surrounding interior design.

Project Background

The project was developed for a newly renovated five-star hotel in Los Angeles. The interior design team wanted a signature sculptural feature that could strengthen the identity of the lobby and create a memorable first impression for hotel guests. The sculpture was designed as a flowing ribbon-inspired form with a strong vertical presence.

02 Challenge & Solution

Challenge

The sculpture featured complex twisted curves and a large vertical structure, requiring strict control of dimensional accuracy and welding deformation. Achieving a seamless mirror finish across multiple fabricated sections was another major challenge. The final structure also needed to be strong enough for long-term indoor installation while maintaining a clean and lightweight visual appearance.

Our Solution

Our engineering team converted the approved concept into a detailed 3D fabrication model and divided the sculpture into optimized production sections. Internal stainless steel reinforcement was added to improve structural stability. Each outer panel was laser cut, formed and precision welded before undergoing multiple stages of grinding and mirror polishing. A complete pre-assembly and dimensional inspection was carried out before packaging and shipment.

Material

316L stainless steel was selected for the main structure and exterior surface because of its excellent corrosion resistance, structural strength and suitability for high-quality mirror polishing.
